David Bates is a photographer based in the Texas Hill Country. He grew up in Austin, Texas and has been inspired by the area for over 20 years. At a young age, he found a deep sense of love and appreciation for nature and the animals that call it home. While embarking on the journey to become an Eagle Scout, David first picked up a camera to document the places he had explored. In 2018, he reinvigorated his purpose to document his experiences and has been fine tuning his creative approach ever since. David combines his love of photography with exploration to capture nature in its finest element. While venturing into the winding backroads of the Texas Hill Country and State Parks, he also focuses on the inhabitants and beauty that cross his path along the way. His admiration of animals allows him to capture an emotional side of them that most people have never seen. David loves a challenge and goes out of his way to find the perfect point where mother nature and our world collide by capturing unique and mesmerizing photos of planet earth. As a self-proclaimed nyctophiliac, David captures the beauty of places and things in a light that few others experience. Wherever his travels take him, his camera is in hand allowing him to capture images of solitude and grace that will satisfy your soul. When David is not cruising backroads, exploring rivers and lakes, or tracking trails at State Parks, he can be found spending time with his three-legged friends, Tux and Crumley.
